Appalachian Mountain Club: Since 1876, AMC has promoted the protection, enjoyment, and stewardship of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of the Appalachian region.

The AMC is the nation’s oldest outdoor recreation and conservation organization.

Mr. Macomber has served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and as Treasurer. He was a Director from 1992-1998 and 2004-present.


WGBH Educational Foundation: WGBH is the flagship station of the Public Broadcasting System, generating over 1/3 of all prime time public TV content including production of NOVA!, Masterpiece Theater, and Frontline.

John Macomber is a former Trustee and former Chairman of the Board of Overseers.


Young Presidents' Organization: YPO is an organization of over 8,500 global CEOs. John Macomber is involved with educating these leaders on several levels, ranging from the local level to the international stage. He is a former member of the YPO International Board of Directors, Education Chairman for the International Board, and New England Chapter Chair.


Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston: Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston is a pre-eminent social services organization in Boston. Serving over 8,000 kids in 6 clubhouses, BGCB changes lives.

John Macomber is a Director, Chairman of the Facilities Committee, and former Treasurer of BGCB.


Construction Industry Round Table: CIRT consists of the leaders of 100 of the largest and most influential construction, engineering, and design firms in the world. Mr. Macomber is a former member.
